The roots of The Teal Center — growing in Arlington since 1990

Est. 1990 · Arlington, VA

Our Story

In 1990, a quiet idea took shape in Arlington: a place where people could feel supported, understood, and genuinely cared for, where skilled hands, attentive listening, and a deep respect for the body’s ability to heal would guide every session. That idea became The Teal Center.

What started as a single practice gradually grew into a well-known wellness destination for the Washington, D.C., region. Thousands of individuals have visited over the years, each seeking comfort, progress, or a renewed sense of balance. Throughout this time, one principle has remained constant: healing becomes stronger and more meaningful when the whole person is supported with care and attention.

Within the center, integrative care is part of the daily rhythm. Our practitioners bring together clinical massage therapy, acupuncture, energy medicine, and complementary therapies. Each one contributes experience and insight, creating a therapeutic environment built on shared goals and steady direction. This approach has shaped The Teal Center’s presence in Arlington, Alexandria, Ballston, Crystal City, and Falls Church.

Our home in Randolph Towers, located two blocks from the Ballston Metro, offers comfort, convenience, and a space designed for healing. People arrive seeking relief from pain, support during recovery, restoration of mobility, or a calmer internal state. They find a place that welcomes them with skilled practitioners and a grounded, thoughtful approach to care.

More than thirty-five years later, the heart of The Teal Center still reflects the intention that began it all. The center continues to evolve, welcome new faces, and strengthen its connection to the community. Its purpose remains clear: when the body, mind, and spirit receive aligned care, life gains clarity, strength, and renewal.

Mission & philosophy

Our Mission & Philosophy

At The Teal Center, our purpose is to help you anchor healing for yourself and your community. The body has an intrinsic ability to heal itself, healing occurs spontaneously given the right conditions. Our body is just the beginning, not the end of our healing journey.

The body is an essential doorway into accessing our mind, heart, and spirit, where we most often find the source of our ailment or dis-ease. When the flow between mind, body, heart, and spirit becomes blocked due to stress, trauma, limiting beliefs, or conditioned patterns, we experience a loss of vitality, health, and inspiration. Working with only the physical symptoms provides only temporary relief. At The Teal Center, our goal is to go to the source and co-create, with you, the right conditions for spontaneous and profound healing to occur. The healing journey is truly collaborative, we are not here as “fixers” but as co-creators.

Community Involvement

The Teal Center’s work extends far beyond individual sessions. The team stays deeply connected to Arlington through ongoing participation in community events, wellness gatherings, and educational outreach. This commitment reflects the center’s belief that well-being grows stronger when knowledge, access, and support are shared openly.

The Teal Center regularly hosts workshops and community wellness events that introduce practical tools for healthier living. The organization collaborates with local health groups and non-profits to strengthen support across the region.
